Production Notes & Acknowledgments
This entire series was made in under $100 (not including the equipment I already had: an iPhone, a Macbook, an Aston Halo Reflection Filter, a Focusrite Interface, and an SE X1A microphone).
I have no training in music or video production. I recorded and mixed all the music with Garage Band, in my living room. I got all the instrumental loops from Garage Band and Splice. I filmed and edited it all on my iPhone.
I did not know that I would be making this series when I started. On the full moon of August, by the mouth of the Sacramento river, at the feet of Mount Shasta, I was given the inspiration to make music videos to celebrate those who love the environment, and to tell the story of how my heart grows in the process. I didn't know how I would do it. There was absolutely NO plan other than to find an organization near me, and give it a go. The first organization I found was the Putah Creek Council, who opened their doors wide to me, and introduced me to all their friends, and the rest is history.
All this to say: this series feels like it was made by something bigger than me, a collective dream that knows that when we care for each other, and believe in ourselves, the sky is the limit.
With that in mind, I am so grateful for the following organizations, without whom this series would have never happened:
To the Putah Creek Council, Sustainable Solano, and One Tree Planted, your warm welcome has made all the difference.
To Apple, your incredible creative tools have allowed me to enter the world of media without any training nor budget for a team. Thank you.
To all the organizations who taught me so much about how to care for our Earth and build community in the process,
To all the volunteers who brought so much joy and kindness, and who trusted me to do right by your image,
To all the artists that inspire me,
To my family for all your support in this wild process of creative evolution,
To my dog, Cedar, for taking me on walks and giving me the best advice when I need it the most,
To that mysterious muse who guides every step of the way,
And to you, dear reader, for making this wonderful world so real:
Thank you. May we all realize the power of our vision, voice, and talents as you have helped me to realize mine.
Peace, health, happiness, and love to you, always.
